Campi Racing Chasing Another Accomplishment

When the teams roll into Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway (TN) for the North South Super Late Model Challenge, it will mark the start of a three-race campaign to the finish of the 2024 ASA Southern Super Series season.

The team at the top is no surprise, but it’s a first-time experience for the car owner.  Casey Roderick leads the standings by 63 markers over Matt Craig.  Roderick is a two-time former series champion however, those titles didn’t come with Anthony Campi Racing.

“To tell you the truth this is the first time we have followed a series for the whole season,” admitted Campi.  “We normally jump and go to some bigger races, but the schedule and our finishes have allowed us to stay with it in the Southern Super Series.

“The change in Hoosier tires has been a bit of a challenge, but it’s the same for all of us. The longer we could run in the past you would see the separation between good cars and other cars. it's tightened up the whole field.”

ACR is no stranger to wins or championships.  They have won Blizzard Series titles, Speedweeks titles, and some in the Pro Late Model ranks but never in a full touring Super Late Model Series. With nearly a dozen drivers having already won with ACR, this potential championship could be a monumental accomplishment.

This year Roderick has five podium finishes and a pair of runner-up finishes on the Southern Super Series tour.  Their average finish for the season is 4.63.

On top of leading the Southern Super Series points they are also leading the ASA STARS National Tour standings as well.  They have a bigger chunk of their season remaining.

“We are pleased with the year we have had, but we want to win races,” said Campi.  “Everything kind of has to align in these races and there's just one guy that it just works for each week.  That guy that beats us just keeps changing. It's not the same person, but we always seem to be second to a new face each week.”

Roderick has won the North South Super Late Model Challenge twice and is a former winner of the All American 400.  He could return to Nashville in November to lock up a second championship in the 2024 season.

Racing gets underway at 5pm CT at Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway (TN).  The  North South Super Late Model Challenge will be the final event of the night after the Pro Late Model event.  For more information on the North South Super Late Model Challenge  log on to www.SouthernSuperSeries.com
