Predictions for the 2025 SSS Season

Writer's picture: Elgin TraylorElgin Traylor

Members of the media and those close to the ASA Southern Super Series have stepped forward to give us a few predictions on what will take place in 2025.

The panel includes members from Racing America, Liberty Racing Review, Short Track Scene, Southern Super Series, and Five Flags Speedway.

This is for fun and we know we could be wrong with our predictions and thoughts, but it will give us something to think about as we close in on the next race.

What ASA Southern Super Series race are you most anticipating?

A lot of focus on this from our panel leans towards the Newport Speedway (TN) event on May 24th. The lure of a new track, the lure of the 15 drivers already signed up to be there with the ASA STARS Tour Platinum program leaves us with excitement.

Others are not too quick to give the prize away to remind us that there has never been a bad race at Hickory.  The way Mobile ended last year we want to see if the half-mile track in Irvington, Alabama can do it again.  Plus the Blizzard finale always seems to be in the spotlight for a good solid night of racing.

Who will be the next first-time winner?

We had members pick Gavan Boschele before this could be printed and they were of course right, but who is next?

Our panelists pointed out several names including Carson Brown, Colby Howard, Jake Finch, Michael Hinde, and George Phillips.  Needless to say, we expect to see different faces in victory lane in 2025.

Will we have four different Blizzard Winners Again this year?

Despite having four different winners in 2024 the panel feels someone will win more than once this year in the Blizzard Series.  The Blizzard events at Five Flags Speedway will be run in March, April, June, and September.

Who will win Rookie of the Year?  Carson Brown, Gavan Boshele, Dylan Fetcho, George Phillips

Our group of panelists have Carson Brown selected as the favorite as he got twice the votes over Gavan Boschele.  Like before we mention this was done before the New Smyrna Clyde Hart Memorial which Boshele won.  Dylan Fetcho also received votes and did George Phillips who could be a sleeper in the whole battle after missing the race at Cordele in January.

Who will be the ASA Southern Super Series Champion?

This is a dead toss up between Cole Butcher, Stephen Nasse and Colby Howard.  Each received multiple votes and were tied atop the standings.  Behind the front group were the likes of Bubba Pollard at Matt Craig, who has been second in points each of the last two seasons.  Pollard is the 2014 Southern Super Series Champion.
